Residing in Superior, Colorado, Tim Hays exemplifies the qualities of motivation, leadership, and patience. Over the past twenty years, he has wholeheartedly devoted himself to mentoring athletes, emphasizing success on the basketball court, and championing character development and holistic growth. He transcends the traditional role of a coach, standing as a friend, a leader, and a mentor, deeply understanding that sports are about more than just winning – they are about shaping character and fostering overall development.

His journey in basketball, starting as a high school coach in Meridian, Idaho, in 2003, demonstrates that patience often yields significant rewards. He diligently instilled toughness and discipline in his players, leading them to numerous victories and successes. His versatility in leading teams took him from Idaho to Australia and Colorado and eventually to Southeastern University in Florida. Here, his team achieved an extraordinary record of 106 consecutive conference wins and six straight conference titles, illustrating his exceptional skills in motivation and culture-building.

As a professional coach in Australia, he marked a significant achievement when Basketball Australia recognized his efforts with a Coach of the Year award, solidifying his stature as an elite international coach. He continued his successful streak at the University of Colorado, promoting a culture of excellence, integrity, and diversity. His leadership was crucial in leading the team to their first Sweet 16 in two decades. His enduring dedication to player development is further highlighted by his influence on 52 All-Conference players, 17 of whom signed professional contracts, a testament to his ability to maximize his players' potential.

Tim Hays life has been equally enriching, shared with his wife of 21 years, Crista, a former professional basketball player. Together, they shared a journey filled with coaching, travel, and a dream of owning a hobby farm. In August of 2023, he made a significant personal sacrifice by pausing his Division 1 coaching career to provide care for two terminally ill family members, demonstrating a profound commitment to family values. This act and their upcoming 22nd wedding anniversary serve as reminders of their shared love and resilience in the face of life's challenges.
